Should the Google Search app be blocked?

Google Search, Google Now, Voice Search, and other similar search apps do not offer a safe search option and are unfiltered. They may appear filtered since they will open a link in your filtered browser but you can still access offensive images and other content though them.

For filtered searching, we recommend using the search bar that is located at the top of the Blue browser. The Blue browser is included in your CloudLocker / Blue subscription. You can add the Blue browser to your home page. Alternately, you can add the Blue browser widget to your home screen or use CloudLauncher - see below.

If the Google search widget is present on your home screen and can't be removed, we recommend using a different launcher to help clean up your home screen.

If you are wanting to use voice commands for searching, we recommend using the SwiftKey keyboard. Once installed, you can tap and hold the microphone button to the left of the keyboard to activate Google Voice or your favorite voice recognition app.
