Your connection is not private message

Here are 2 common fixes if you get a message in your browser on Android that your connection is not private.

Note: This fix is for Android only. If you are running into this error on Mac, you can find the fix here.

Install Certificates

This problem will usually show up right after installing the filter. Try synchronizing settings from the Cloudlocker app first as your device may install the certificates automatically. If that doesn’t work, use the following guides to install certificates.

Recent versions of Android require certificates to be installed manually from Settings.

  1. Open Settings and search for 'certificate'.
  2. Choose the option for CA certificate from the search results.
  3. Choose the CA certificate option.
  4. Hit the Install anyway button on the warning that pops up.
  5. Verify your identity with your password, pattern, or fingerprint.
  6. Go to Downloads > applocker. You may have to open the menu in the top corner to find the Downloads folder.
If the certificate doesn't show up you can download it manually from this link:
    http://api.mobifilter.net/cloudveil_blue_rootCA.crt
  7. Select the CV1.crt and hit done.

Here is a tutorial with screenshots on how to install them.

If you've already installed the certificates, then move to the next option.

Turn off the in-app Browser in the Google App

If you have installed certificates and you just get the connection not private message when you're opening search results from the Google app you need to turn off the in-app browser in the Google app.

  1. On the page where you get the connection not private message hit the 3 dot menu button. This will be in the corner.
  2. Tap the Browser settings option.
If there is no Browser settings option in the menu then likely this is not an issue on your phone. Make sure you've installed certificates and contact CloudVeil support if the problem persists.
  3. Turn off the option to Open web pages in the Google app.
